The short answer
If uncertainty is making you drive less often than you would like, then yes: two or three lessons cost less than a year of avoidance. They are not worth it if you drive regularly and only want to brush up one manoeuvre — a single targeted lesson does that.
The honest measure is not how long the break was but whether it has changed your behaviour. Someone leaving the car where it is because the situation feels like too much loses more than a handful of lessons costs.
When it is almost always worth it
- A long break — months or years without driving
- Uncertainty in today's traffic, which has got denser than it was
- Coming back after a long time abroad, often with left-hand traffic behind you
- Switching from automatic to manual or the other way round
- After an accident, to get the confidence back
- Driving anxiety you want to work through
When it is not worth it
If you drive regularly and only want to practise one specific thing — reverse parking, joining a motorway, manoeuvring a trailer. That needs no course, just one targeted lesson. Say what it is about when you book and we practise exactly that and nothing else.
What the arithmetic misses
Driving uncertainly is not just less pleasant, it is different: slower than the traffic, hesitant at junctions, late to the mirror. That measurably raises the risk and is read by others as misbehaviour. So the two lessons are not only about comfort.
Your licence stays valid
Refreshing is not repeating. There is no test, nothing is re-assessed, and nothing is reported to any authority. Your entitlement is entirely untouched by it.
