What does the licence cost in total?
It comes down to a single number: how many practice lessons you need before the test. Everything else on this page is fixed in advance — the registration fee, the twelve compulsory special drives and the exam fees.

Come by or call. We will go through your situation and tell you honestly what to expect — even when the answer is “start with a few lessons and let us see where you are”.
Not included in these prices
The TÜV test fees, the licensing authority's fees, the eyesight test, the first-aid course and the photograph. Those bodies bill you directly and set their own fees — which is why we do not print a figure for them.
Common questions about price
How many driving lessons will I really need?
Nobody can honestly say that in advance — the number of practice lessons is the one item on this page that depends on you.
What is fixed are the twelve special drives: five cross-country, four on the motorway, three at night. They are required by law and are the same at every driving school. Everything before them follows your progress, and above all how regularly you drive.
After every lesson you get an honest assessment of where you stand. We enter you for the test when you are ready — not earlier, so that a second attempt does not become necessary in the first place.
When do I pay what?
In stages: the basic fee is due when you register, driving lessons you pay for as you go, and the presentation fees only when we enter you for a test.
So it never all arrives at once. The biggest block spreads across the months in which you drive, and grows at exactly the pace you take lessons.
Whatever does not run through us bills you directly: the TÜV, the licensing authority, the eyesight test, the first-aid course and the photograph. Those bodies set their own fees, which is why we do not print a figure for them.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. If you need a different split from the usual one, talk to us.
We arrange that personally rather than through a bank — no financing, no credit check, no contract with a third party. It is an agreement made in the office that both sides keep to.
The simplest thing is to raise it at the first consultation, before you sign. It is possible later too, but by then the basic fee will already have fallen due.
If I change driving school, do I pay for everything again?
No. The theory and practical lessons you have already had are recognised, and instead of a full new registration you pay only the change fee.
It appears as an item of its own in the list on this page. The basic fee for a new registration is not charged a second time — that is exactly what the change fee is there for.
All you need to bring is your ID card. The cancellation, the training record and the re-registration at the Straßenverkehrsamt are ours to sort out.
What happens if I fail a test?
Then the presentation fee and the TÜV fee are payable again for the second attempt — a new basic fee is not.
Both items are listed separately above, so you can see beforehand what is involved. You can resit the theory test after two weeks, and the practical one after two weeks as well.
The best protection against it is not going too early. We put you forward when we think you are ready — and we tell you when we do not yet.

If nothing is shown there, the list prices apply and no offer is running. An offer here ends by itself on the date behind it; there is no quiet extension that simply is not on the page.
