The short answer
From about two weeks is realistic, but only with daily availability. What is compressed is the tempo, not the content: the same 14 double lessons of theory, the same twelve special drives, the same test. The application to the licensing authority goes out on the day you sign up; how quickly it is processed is the authority's call.
The advertising for it often sounds like a shortcut, and it is not. What the intensive course shortens are the gaps between appointments — not the material.
What is compressed
- Theory: daily classes, 14 topics in about two to three weeks rather than months
- Driving lessons: several a week, tightly scheduled
- One fixed instructor, so nobody has to get up to speed twice
- The application goes to the authority on the day you sign up
What stays identical
The tests. There is no separate intensive-course test, no reduced number of questions and no shortened test drive. The twelve special drives apply just the same — and the three night drives are why some summer courses run longer than planned. Before the end of July it gets dark late in Düsseldorf.
What you have to bring
Time, in one block. Missing two days in an intensive course does not cost two days, it tears a hole in a plan where everything builds on everything else. Two to three weeks of holiday is the usual frame.
Where it usually comes unstuck
Not on the driving but on the calendar: a working day that gets in the way after all, or a test slot the testing organisation does not have free in the week you wanted. So we book the test date first and build the rest around it.
Who it suits
School and university students using the holidays. People in work with a continuous block of leave. And anybody new to Düsseldorf who needs to be mobile quickly for a job. It combines with class B, B78, B197 and BF17.
Who it does not suit: anyone who has to work in between. Then the regular route is not the slower one, it is the only one that works. Everything else is on the intensive course page.
