Failed the test — what now?

It happens more often than your friends admit. Failing means hearing a result in the car that feels final, and leaving with three questions: when can I go again, what does it cost, and what do I have to redo?

When you can go again

After a minimum of two weeks — the same for the theory test and the practical. The wait is not a punishment but time to practise; going again after three days means going with the same problem. In practice the new date is often a little later, because it depends on the free test slots.

What you do not have to do again

• The theory classes — attended topics stay credited
• The twelve special drives, if you have already done them
• The application to the licensing authority
• The eye test and the first-aid course

If the theory is passed and the practical is not, the theory stays valid — twelve months from the day you sat it. Inside that window you can retake the practical as often as you need to.

What is newly due

The testing organisation's fee and our entry fee, plus whatever lessons you drive before the second attempt. No new basic fee, no new registration, no new learning material. The individual items are on the prices page.

The part nobody talks about

The second attempt is usually more nerve-racking, not less — it has already gone wrong once. So we start by looking at what actually went wrong. In most cases it is one clearly nameable situation, not “I cannot drive”. That one situation we practise until it is boring.

And if you find you are doubting the school rather than the test: changing is possible at any point, including mid-training.
