The short answer
We are at Oststraße 122 in 40210 Düsseldorf, in the city centre. Four U-Bahn lines stop at Oststraße directly outside, and it is six minutes on foot from the main station. You do not need a car to get here — handy, given you do not have a licence yet.
People normally look for a driving school near where they live. For training you travel to thirty or fifty times, though, the better question is how well you get there without a car — and what is outside the door when the lesson starts.
How to get here
- U-Bahn: Oststraße stop, directly outside the door — U71, U72, U73 and U83
- On foot: six minutes from the main station, where every S-Bahn calls

From Flingern, Bilk, Oberbilk, Derendorf, Eller or Mörsenbroich that is a few minutes; from Oberkassel and the left bank, through the centre likewise. And anybody with somewhere to be after theory is standing at a junction of lines in the evening rather than in an industrial estate.
Why the location matters for training
Your lesson does not start with a twenty-minute drive out to a practice area but immediately in the traffic you will also be tested in. Multi-lane roads, tram rails, cyclists, pedestrians between parked cars, junction after junction — that is everyday Düsseldorf and exactly the material the test decides on.
The other side of it
The first lessons still do not go straight through the centre. You start where little happens — and quiet residential streets are quickly reached from here too.
There are no test routes
People keep asking whether you practise “the route”. There is not one: the examiner decides where to go as you drive, and the test lasts 55 minutes across whatever the traffic offers. What helps is not knowing the roads but knowing the situations — how the test works is a post of its own.
